I have been intrigued with “Inukshuks” since my trip to the Arctic a few years ago. Inukshuks are structures of unworked stones used as hunting and navigational aids by the Inuit for purposes of communication and survival. The traditional meaning of the Inukshuk is “You are on the right path” or “Someone was here.” I like to be reminded that I am on the right path.

Dana presented me with an opportunity to have an Inukshuk of my own in the front yard as a focal point for a garden. I provided him with a sketch and Dana made it happen. To ensure that the Inukshuk was safe, he established a concrete base, “pinned” and then cemented the joints. The quality of his work was excellent. Dana performed the work on time and on budget.
